GridPoint Operations Center

The GridPoint Operations Center acts as an intelligent hub for the GridPoint SmartGrid Platform. The operations center processes and exchanges information across the platform and provides software applications for utility and consumer control.

GridPoint Energy Manager is the intelligent node within the home or business that communicates with the GridPoint Operations Center. Utilities gain direct control over an intelligent network of distributed energy technologies through the GridPoint Control Console, located in the utility control room, and customers manage their energy online through the GridPoint Customer Portal.

The GridPoint Operations Center easily integrates with a utility's operations and control center as well as billing and CRM systems to provide detailed energy consumption and production information over a virtual private network or private line using a utility's data bus. Reports are customized to provide utilities with the desired information in the exact format specified, enabling utilities to easily share actionable information across the enterprise and provide customers with value-added services such as detailed billing.

Additionally, the operations center continuously gathers performance information on distributed technologies to preemptively address maintenance needs. The GridPoint Customer Service team, provided by GridPoint Support Services, utilizes this information to schedule maintenance appointments, ensure performance and increase customer satisfaction.
